faq
Here are some key details about what you need to know before hiring a wedding Videographer, planning your wedding day timeline, and receiving your final videos!
Coverage, Pricing, and Timing
• How many hours of coverage do we need?
Most couples choose 8 to 10 hours, which covers pre-ceremony getting-ready moments, the ceremony, portraits, speeches, and early-to-mid reception dancing. If you have already booked a photographer, we would typically match their schedule and timeline.
• Do we need a second videographer?
A single videographer works well for compact, single-location timelines. Can a solo videographer capture a wedding with three different locations? Yes. A second videographer is recommended if you are getting ready in separate locations, have a large guest count, or have a church ceremony. A second videographer guarantees multi-angle coverage of key moments, including first look, and reception formalities.
• Do you use a drone?
Yes, many videographers include drone footage for wide venue and landscape shots, provided weather permits and the venue is in a legal, safe-to-fly airspace. We always plan to use the drone to capture the exterior of the reception venue, and will launch if schedule allows during portrait sessions, first look, and ceremony procession. A second videographer offers a second set of hands to manage camera controls during drone flight!
Videography Style
• What is your videography style?
Our intent is to not only bring great energy from the second we walk into prep, but also blend in to our surroundings so that it doesn't feel like you have a camera in your face all day.
• How do you capture audio?
Clean audio is captured using discreet lapel / lavalier mics on the groom and officiant, for first looks, note reads, and ceremony recording. Direct feeds from the DJ's soundboard, and backup audio recorders will be used during the ceremony and reception to capture priceless audio from vows and wedding introductions and speeches.
• Can we choose the music?
We use legally licensed music curated by the editor to match the mood of the day. However, if you provide royalty free music that matches your vibe from a website like www.soundstripe.com, we will be happy to film and edit to match the music and use the audio file during the edit, especially for a teaser or 3-5 minute highlight film.
Deliverables and Logistics
• What will we receive in our final package?

This often includes slow motion clips and drone footage, with royalty free music. No recorded audio from the day will be in the teaser.

• How is our footage backed up?
Our videographers use dual-card camera recording on your wedding day, so that in the unlikely event that one of the camera cards winds up corrupt, we have a backup. All footage is stored on local hard drives, even after the wedding. We upload your videos to a privately hosted cloud storage system like Vimeo, YouTube, and Mediazilla. Couples are encouraged to download all of their weddings films and store to hard drives as well!
